Away From Home (Part 2)
Saturday, July 11th, 2009
[THSR - Taiwan High Speed Rail]It’s winter in HsinChu and the place being a “wind city” makes the temperate even colder. *Brrr* Sometimes my Taiwan colleagues ponder if I am wearing enough to keep warm.
I seriously do not have the habit of checking weather forecast because Singapore is either rain or shine. I have no clue how to react if there’s typhoon or hurricane or earthquake. IMO our sunny island is really very well sheltered, so learn to cherish what you have!
Anyway food is so-so in Hsinchu. I didn’t find any food addictive and eventually lost 1kg+ after 2 wks.

The Redang Island Getaway’08
Thursday, September 11th, 2008
[Laguna Redang Island Resort]Pulau Redang is located in the South China Sea off the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia. It lies about 45km northeast of Kuala Terengganu, the state capital of Terengganu, and out 22km off Tanjung Merang, the closest point on the mainland. In general, it’s about 10 hours coach ride from Singapore and 1 hour ferry transfer from Merang Jetty.

10:30pm YB and I set off to Kuala Terengganu via Konsortium coach. We have bought the 3D2N coach package from NATAS Travel’08 at $440 each (before UOB discount of $30). If you were to consider direct accomodation booking and purchase coach tickets from Singapore, the price is almost the same or more. -
Malacca Road Trip 21-22 Mar 08
Friday, May 2nd, 2008
[View from Infinity Pool, Holiday Inn Melaka]Malacca or Melaka is located about 224km North of Johor Bahru, Malaysia. That’s about 3 hours drive through the busy streets of JB and the Expressway.
We planned to reach our destination around 12pm for lunch before checking into the hotel. However due to predictable circumstances likely punctuality issue, We set off from Kranji 8am instead of 7am. On top of this, there was a massive jam on the way to the Woodlands Checkpoint and this owing to the renowned SG fugitive. Everyone on the bus chose to get off halfway and walk all the way to the Checkpoint. -.-”

Kukup 8-9 Sep’07

[Adri @ Kukup] ..//Pixels@mycosybay
Pictures complied from friends on tripIt all began with a shower early Saturday morning. I was sleepy as I slept at 4am and woke up at 7am. Zzzz
My first time to Kukup (southwest corner of Johor Bahru) and I have no idea what to expect.
Upon reaching, we took a 5-10mins walk through the village to drop our belongings at our accomodation. I was expecting old wooden kelong but instead it was a modernised kelong village on thick concrete stilts. The rented accomodation is the home to owner and its simple, clean and pretty spacious. Already better than what I’ve expected.
